In 2026 the question is no longer "should we use AI" but "which kind". Three kinds exist. Chat tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) give each person a box to prompt. Builders (n8n, Zapier) let someone wire models into automations. Coworkers and agents (Sokosumi, Viktor, Whaaat) take a brief and hand back a finished file. Most teams end up with one from each group, so this list is sorted by job, not by rank.
The short answer
Choose the product category before the vendor. Use a general assistant for quick individual work, an EU workspace when company-wide governance matters, a specialist content or design tool for production inside its editor, an automation builder when your team can maintain workflows, and an AI coworker when the brief should come back as a finished deliverable. There is no honest single winner across those jobs.
How we chose the 16 tools
We shortlisted tools a marketing team in the US or in Germany, Austria and Switzerland would actually trial this year, then kept the ones with four things: a published price, a clear answer on EU hosting, a clear statement of what comes out (chat, files, automations), and team features such as shared workspaces or admin controls. Prices were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 26 August 2026; where a vendor blocks automated reads (OpenAI, Canva, Adobe, Perplexity, Dust) we used a dated third-party tracker and say so. Sokosumi is our own product; it is listed with the same fields and the same tone as everything else.
General assistants marketers already use
ChatGPT
OpenAI's chat assistant with Deep Research, agent mode, projects and custom GPTs.
- Best for: One person who wants the widest set of features in a single box.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free $0; Go $8; Plus $20; Pro $100–200; Business $20/seat/month annual or $25 monthly; Enterprise on quote (third-party tracker, verify; openai.com blocks reads). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: ChatGPT Business data residency is rolling out by workspace and covers primary content at rest, with US safety-log exceptions; eligible Enterprise and Edu workspaces can add European at-rest and inference residency.
- Strengths: Deep Research and agent mode can return spreadsheets, slides and PDFs from one prompt. Scheduled tasks run a prompt on a timer, one-off or recurring.
- Watch-outs: Output lands in one person's chat history; there is no shared task board for a team. EU data residency needs the Enterprise contract, not the $25 Business seat.
Claude
Anthropic's assistant with Projects, file creation and Cowork for multi-step tasks over folders and tools.
- Best for: Long documents, careful writing, and turning a brief into a .docx, .xlsx or .pptx.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free $0; Pro $17/month annual or $20 monthly; Max from $100; Team $20/seat annual or $25 monthly (premium seat $100/$125); Enterprise $20/seat plus usage (claude.com/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: No on first-party plans; EU regions only through AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex, a separate cloud contract.
- Strengths: Creates and edits Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files on all plans, including Free. Cowork can schedule recurring tasks that run unattended on paid plans.
- Watch-outs: claude.ai and the API store data in the US; there is no EU residency switch in the product (compound.law, Apr 2026). Team plan has no shared board; each person's Cowork runs on their own desktop.
Google Gemini
Google's assistant inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides, plus the standalone Gemini app and NotebookLM.
- Best for: Teams that already live in Google Workspace.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Google AI Pro CHF 17/month, AI Ultra from CHF 100 (gemini.google, shown in CHF from Switzerland; US list $19.99 / $249.99). Workspace with Gemini: Starter CHF 7, Standard CHF 14, Plus CHF 22 per user/month. Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Yes for Workspace customers with data regions (basic policy from Business Standard); Gemini app follows data regions since June 2026.
- Strengths: Writes straight into Docs, Sheets and Slides, so the file is where the team already works. Deep Research and NotebookLM turn a pile of sources into a report or slides.
- Watch-outs: Weakest fit for companies on Microsoft 365, which is most of DACH mid-market. Advanced data-region policies need Enterprise Plus or similar top editions (Google Workspace help).
Microsoft 365 Copilot
Microsoft's assistant in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, with Researcher and Analyst agents.
- Best for: Companies already on Microsoft 365 that want AI inside Office files and Teams.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Copilot Business add-on $18/user/month annual (promo through 31 Dec 2026) or $25.20 monthly; Business Standard with Copilot $23.50; Business Premium with Copilot $32; Enterprise Copilot $30/user/month (microsoft.com). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Yes: an EU Data Boundary service for EU tenants, but calls can be routed to other regions at peak load and Anthropic models are excluded from the boundary (Microsoft Learn, updated Aug 2026).
- Strengths: Reads your mail, files and meetings through Microsoft Graph with existing permissions. Researcher and Analyst agents produce reports and data analysis inside Office.
- Watch-outs: Custom or autonomous agents need Copilot Studio credits on top of the seat price. Microsoft's own docs say LLM calls "can call into other regions where capacity is available".
EU-hosted AI workspaces
Langdock
Berlin-based company workspace with chat, custom agents and workflows over 40+ models, hosted in the EU.
- Best for: A German company rolling out one AI tool to every employee.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Business €25/user/month (Standard seat) or €99 (Business Max); Enterprise for 1,000+ users; Workflows add-on from €539/month; 7-day trial with €5 model credits (langdock.com/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Yes, EU hosting, ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
- Strengths: One seat price covers chat, agents and 2,500 workflow runs a month. SSO, SCIM and admin controls for company-wide rollouts.
- Watch-outs: Web and desktop only; no native Teams, WhatsApp or SMS channel (teamazing 90-day review, 2026). Usage moved to token-based limits in April 2026, so heavy users can exceed the seat quota.
Dust
Paris-based platform for building agents on company data from Notion, Drive, Slack and more.
- Best for: Teams that want to build their own agents on internal knowledge, in Europe.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free $0 (500 lifetime credits); Pro $30/seat/month or $24 annual (8,000 credits); Max $150/seat (40,000 credits); Enterprise from 100 seats (UsagePricing capture of dust.tt, 24 Jun 2026; third-party, verify).
- EU hosting: Yes, EU or US residency on Pro and Max; Enterprise can choose.
- Strengths: Agents live in Slack and can pull from connected company sources. Spaces with access controls decide which team sees which data.
- Watch-outs: Credits cover messages plus tool use and do not roll over; file generation costs 3 credits per action. You build every agent yourself; there is no catalogue of ready marketing coworkers.
nele.ai
German multi-model chat with prompt library and Word/Excel add-ins, priced by a company-wide credit pool.
- Best for: A small German firm that wants a safe ChatGPT-style tool at low cost.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Credit packs from 1,000 credits €10/month to 750,000 credits €3,750/month, net; knowledge database add-on €19.95/month (nele.ai/de/ki-preise). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Yes, servers in the EU, ISO 27001.
- Strengths: Company-wide credit pool instead of per-seat pricing; cheap to start. Add-ins for Word and Excel keep work in Office.
- Watch-outs: Chat and prompts, not agents; no scheduled or autonomous tasks on the pricing page. Knowledge databases are capped at 2 GB with a 20 MB per-file limit.
Content and copy
Jasper
Marketing content platform with brand voice, Canvas and 100+ marketing agents.
- Best for: A content team that wants on-brand copy at volume.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Pro $69/seat/month or $59 annual, 7-day trial; Business custom, 12-month minimum (jasper.ai/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: No; data is stored in US data centres (Jasper security page).
- Strengths: Brand voice and style rules apply across every output. Agents grouped by marketing task, from SEO briefs to email sequences.
- Watch-outs: Pro includes one seat; more users means the custom Business plan. API, custom agents and admin controls are Business-only.
Design and creative
Canva
Browser design tool with Magic Studio AI for images, copy, video and decks.
- Best for: Non-designers making social posts, decks and ads fast.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free $0 (50 AI credits/month); Pro $18/month or $180/year (500 credits); Business $25/person/month or $250/year; AI Pass add-on $100/person/month (third-party trackers, Aug 2026; canva.com blocks reads; verify).
- EU hosting: Not published.
- Strengths: Brand kits and templates keep a whole team on one look. One credit pool covers image generation, copy and background removal.
- Watch-outs: AI credits are shared across all features and run out fast for heavy users. Per-seat pricing with no volume discount on Business.
Adobe Firefly
Adobe's generative image, video and audio models, sold standalone or inside Creative Cloud.
- Best for: Brand teams that need commercially safe visuals and already use Adobe.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free (25 credits); Standard $9.99/month (2,000 credits); Pro $19.99 (4,000); Pro Plus $49.99 (10,000); Premium $199.99 (50,000) (third-party trackers checked against adobe.com, 25 Aug 2026; verify).
- EU hosting: Not published for Firefly plans.
- Strengths: Trained on licensed content, with an IP indemnity for enterprise customers. Standard generations are unlimited on paid plans; credits go to video and premium models.
- Watch-outs: Credit use for video and partner models is hard to predict; reviewers report credits spent without output (costbench). GenStudio and the coming Marketing Agent are enterprise quote-only, not self-serve.
Research
Perplexity
Search-first assistant with cited answers, Deep Research and Labs for reports and dashboards.
- Best for: Fast, sourced market and competitor research.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free $0; Pro $20/month; Max $200/month; Enterprise Pro $40/seat/month; Enterprise Max $325/seat (third-party tracker 2026; perplexity.ai blocks reads; verify).
- EU hosting: No; processing on US infrastructure, no EU data centre option (compound.law, 16 Apr 2026).
- Strengths: Every answer carries sources you can click. Labs on Max turns a research question into a spreadsheet, dashboard or slide deck.
- Watch-outs: Labs and unlimited research sit on the $200 Max tier, not Pro. Sources are the open web; no licensed data such as Statista or GWI.
AI coworkers and agents that deliver files
Sokosumi
Marketplace of named AI coworkers and specialist agents for marketing teams, each run by a named vendor with stated models and hosting.
- Best for: A marketing team that wants a report, deck or dashboard delivered, not a chat window.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free 250 credits per seat per month, no card; Starter €25, Standard €75, Pro €200 per seat per month; Enterprise custom; credits only spent when a task runs (sokosumi.com/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Yes, available and stated per coworker (for example Azure Frankfurt; Swiss-hosted open models).
- Strengths: Brief in plain language or @mention in a channel; the task shows on a shared board and ends as a PDF, deck, spreadsheet or live dashboard. Each coworker has a public profile with sample work, vendor, model and hosting region; scheduled tasks.
- Watch-outs: Catalogue is young: 52 coworkers and agents from 7 vendors, 5,300+ tasks run. Not a chat assistant; quick one-line questions are better served by ChatGPT or Claude.
Viktor
AI employee that lives in Slack and Teams, connects to 3,200+ tools and returns reports, spreadsheets, dashboards and code.
- Best for: Ops-heavy teams on Slack that want one general agent wired into their stack.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Free $100 in credits, no card; Team from $50/month (20,000 credits) to $300 (125,000); larger packs to $50,000/month; Enterprise custom (viktor.com/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Not published; SOC 2 Type 1, ISO 27001 in progress.
- Strengths: @mention in a thread, get a file back; scheduled tasks and crons included on all plans. Very wide integration list, with custom connectors on request.
- Watch-outs: One generic coworker, not specialists by marketing role; no vendor disclosure per task. Warsaw/Munich company but hosting region is not stated on the site.
Whaaat AI
Berlin-based set of 28 named marketing agents (LinkedIn, blog, landing page, SEO) with a shared brand voice.
- Best for: A startup or small team that needs steady social and blog content for a flat fee.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: $25/month for all agents, unlimited use; 7-day trial, no card (whaaat.ai). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Not published.
- Strengths: Flat price with no credit meter. Multi-brand support and a choice of GPT, Claude, Gemini and Mistral models.
- Watch-outs: Outputs are text and images to copy out; no task board, scheduling or file deliverables. Single vendor with a small team (about 12 staff per ADZINE, June 2026); no enterprise tier or SSO listed.
Automation builders
n8n
Berlin-based workflow and AI-agent builder, cloud-hosted in Frankfurt or self-hosted.
- Best for: A team with one technical person who wants to own its automations and data.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Cloud Starter €20/month annual (2,500 executions); Pro €50 (10,000); Business €667 (40,000, self-host option); Enterprise on quote; community self-host free (n8n.io/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Yes; cloud data stored in Frankfurt, or wherever you self-host.
- Strengths: Executions are billed per workflow, not per step, so long agent chains stay cheap. Open source and self-hostable; a runbook, not a vendor lock.
- Watch-outs: You build and maintain every workflow; nothing marketing-specific out of the box. Self-hosting means your team owns updates, backups and security.
Zapier Agents
No-code agents on top of Zapier's 9,000-app catalogue, billed in activities separate from Zap tasks.
- Best for: Non-technical marketers who already run Zaps and want light agents on top.
- Price checked 2026-08-26: Zapier Free (100 tasks, 400 agent activities/month); Professional from $19.99/month annual (750 tasks, 1,500 activities); Team from $69/month annual; Enterprise custom (zapier.com/pricing). Checked 26 Aug 2026.
- EU hosting: Not published.
- Strengths: Largest app catalogue; agents can trigger, browse, search and act. No code and no servers to run.
- Watch-outs: Every agent step is a billable activity; costs climb with usage. US-hosted SaaS with no stated EU data option.
How to choose without buying twice
- Write down the output: an answer, an editable file, a scheduled workflow, or a finished deliverable.
- Decide who owns prompting, quality control and maintenance after launch.
- Check data location, subprocessors, retention and model-training terms for the exact plan—not only the vendor homepage.
- Run the same real brief through two finalists and score source quality, edit time and total cost.
- Keep a human approval step for claims, personal data, regulated work and anything published under your brand.
Prices and plans change. Treat every price above as a dated observation and confirm it on the linked vendor page before purchasing. Sokosumi is our product; it is included because the comparison covers AI coworkers, and it is evaluated with the same fields and explicit limitations as the other tools.
Sources and review notes
The list was reviewed on 2026-08-26. Official product and pricing pages are preferred; when a vendor blocked automated access, the draft uses a dated third-party capture and labels that limitation.

AI marketing tools: common questions
What is an AI marketing agent?
A program that takes a goal in plain language, works through several steps on its own (search, read, draft, calculate) and hands back a result. In a chat tool the result is text in your window. In a coworker platform the result is a file, such as a PDF report or a deck, on a board your team can see.
Which AI marketing tool fits a small team in Germany?
Start with an EU-hosted workspace if you need one tool for everyone: Langdock at €25 per user, or nele.ai if budgets are tight. If you need finished reports and campaign work rather than a chat box, Sokosumi (EU hosting stated per coworker) or Whaaat AI (flat $25, hosting not published) are the two DACH options on this list. Check the vendor's hosting statement before you sign.
Do I need ChatGPT if I use a coworker marketplace?
Usually yes, for quick questions and drafts. Coworkers are for tasks with a deliverable: a competitor report, a monthly performance PDF, a campaign plan. Most teams keep a chat seat per person and add coworkers where they want work done, not answered.
Are AI marketing tools GDPR compliant?
Not automatically. The useful question is where data is stored and processed on the exact plan. Langdock, Dust, nele.ai, n8n cloud and Sokosumi state EU options. Microsoft documents an EU Data Boundary with exceptions. ChatGPT Business is rolling out at-rest residency with US safety-log exceptions; eligible Enterprise and Edu workspaces can add European inference residency. Claude stores first-party product data in the US, while AWS and Google Cloud offer separate regional deployments.
What do AI marketing tools cost in 2026?
Chat seats cluster at $20–25 per person per month (ChatGPT Business, Claude Team, Langdock, Sokosumi Starter). Content and design tools run $18–69 per seat. Agent platforms add usage: credits (Dust, Viktor, Sokosumi), executions (n8n) or activities (Zapier). Enterprise tiers are quote-only almost everywhere.
