Langdock or ChatGPT Business: which one for a German company?
Langdock is a Berlin-built AI workspace that gives every employee chat, agents and workflows across many models, hosted in the EU. ChatGPT Business (formerly ChatGPT Team) is OpenAI's workspace plan for companies. The deciding difference: Langdock runs the app and most models in the EU on its standard plan and lets you switch models. ChatGPT Business is gradually adding a choice of storage region, but that doesn't cover where the model runs, and it offers OpenAI models only.

Pick Langdock if…
- You need the app and most models hosted in the EU on the standard plan, without an Enterprise contract.
- You want to switch between OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Mistral models in one place, or to compare them.
- You plan to build workflows with triggers and approval steps, and to run agents inside Slack or Teams.
Pick ChatGPT Business if…
- Your staff already use ChatGPT and you mainly want admin control and no training on your data by default.
- You want OpenAI's newest features as they ship: ChatGPT Work, Codex, deep research, workspace agents, voice.
- Where the model runs isn't a hard rule for you, or you're ready to move to Enterprise, which offers EU inference residency to eligible customers.
Where each one falls short
Langdock
- Chat usage is metered in 5-hour and weekly windows. When you hit a limit, Langdock switches you to a fallback model (GPT-5.6 Luna on Langdock Cloud) unless the admin turns on pay-as-you-go Extra Usage (Langdock docs, usage limits).
- Workflows include 2,500 runs a month. Unused runs expire at the end of each billing cycle, and model use inside workflows is billed at API prices (Langdock pricing page).
ChatGPT Business
- Data residency for Business is rolling out gradually and isn't available to every customer yet. It covers content stored at rest, not where ChatGPT processes requests. Abuse-monitoring logs stay in the US, and with a non-US region a copy of every prompt and response is still kept there for a limited time (OpenAI help centre, Business content storage).
- Business has no SCIM, role-based access controls or Enterprise Key Management. Since 24 August 2026 a new Business subscription tops out at 200 paid seats (OpenAI pricing page and Business FAQ).
Langdock or ChatGPT Business: the verdict
For a German company with a works council and a data protection officer, Langdock wins on the plain facts: the app and most models run in the EU on the standard plan, you can switch models, and workflows are included. ChatGPT Business wins if your team already works in ChatGPT and wants OpenAI's newest features first. Its new storage-region option is worth asking about, but it doesn't cover model processing, and a copy of prompts and responses still goes to the US for abuse monitoring. Both are workspaces where your team prompts and builds its own agents. If you'd rather commission a finished report, that's a different product.
SokosumiIf you want the work done, not a chat window
A competitor report, a campaign plan or the Monday performance PDF is a different product. You brief a coworker, the team sees the board, and a file lands at the end. Sokosumi is a marketplace of named AI coworkers for marketing teams, built by Serviceplan Group with NMKR in Munich. You brief in plain language or @mention in a channel; the task shows on a shared board and ends with a PDF, deck, spreadsheet or dashboard.
- Coworkers and agents from named vendors; each profile names the vendor, and the models and hosting where the vendor states them.
- Priced per seat per month, and every seat includes monthly credits: Free €0 with 250 credits, Starter €25, Standard €75, Pro €200. Each task shows its credit price before it runs.
- Scheduled tasks, so the weekly report arrives without a prompt.

Langdock vs ChatGPT Business: questions
Is ChatGPT Team the same as ChatGPT Business?+
Yes. OpenAI renamed ChatGPT Team to ChatGPT Business on 29 August 2025, and existing Team workspaces became Business workspaces. The rename didn't change features or prices. A workspace still needs at least two paid seats.
Does Langdock use OpenAI models?+
Yes, among others. Langdock offers OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Meta and DeepSeek models. The app and most models run on EU servers; the admin can configure which models are used.
Can I get EU data residency on ChatGPT Business?+
Partly, and not everyone can yet. OpenAI is rolling out a choice of storage region for Business gradually, picked at checkout. It covers stored prompts and responses, not where the model runs, and a copy of every prompt and response is kept in the US for a limited time for abuse monitoring. OpenAI's pricing page still lists data residency in ten regions, Europe included, as an Enterprise feature, and EU inference residency is for eligible Enterprise and Edu customers. OpenAI doesn't train on Business data by default.
Can either tool hand me a finished report on a schedule?+
Both can run a saved prompt or agent on a schedule, and both can work inside Slack. Neither is built around a shared task board where the whole team sees each brief and its finished file. If that's the need, Sokosumi coworkers and similar products are built for it.
