Manus or Genspark: which general agent for reports, decks and research?

Manus is a general autonomous agent: you give it a goal and it browses, runs code and returns a report, site or spreadsheet. Genspark is a Super Agent workspace that produces docs, slide decks, sheets and sites from a brief, with unmetered access to top chat models thrown in. Both charge in credits. Pick Manus if…

Where each one falls short

Manus

  • Credit burn is hard to predict: reviewers report complex research tasks using 500–900 credits and multi-step tasks failing mid-stream with no refund; there is no context-limit warning.
  • Ownership and data are unsettled. The blocked Meta deal led to a forced deletion of user data created since 29 Dec 2025, and EU hosting is not published.

Genspark

  • Pricing is opaque: Plus and Pro dollar prices show only after sign-in, credits do not roll over, and failed or retried tasks still cost credits.
  • Reviews flag occasional wrong numbers in stats-heavy output, and the zero-credit model promise ends 31 Dec 2026 with no stated successor.

Manus or Genspark: the verdict

For a solo user running long autonomous tasks, Manus is the more capable agent, if you accept unpredictable credits and an unsettled company. For a team that mostly wants decks, docs and sheets, Genspark's $30 seat and EU residency on Enterprise make it the safer buy. Neither publishes EU hosting below enterprise level.

Both tools return files from a brief, which is the right idea. The difference is who is accountable and where the team sees the work. Manus vs Genspark: questions

Who owns Manus now?+

Meta bought Manus in late December 2025 for about $2B. Chinese regulators blocked the deal in April 2026 and Meta unwound it. Manus says it will operate as an independent company again; earlier talks with Tencent are unresolved (CNBC, August 2026).

How far do the credits go?+

It depends on the task. Manus reviewers report simple tasks at a few credits and complex research at 500–900. Genspark charges different amounts for agent runs, slides and video, and charges even when a task fails. Both reset or expire monthly.

Can I buy either for a whole team?+

Genspark: yes, $30 per seat for 2–150 seats, self-serve. Manus: team pricing is custom and not published.
