Notion AI or ChatGPT: which one for a team that works in documents?
Notion AI is the AI layer inside Notion: chat over your pages, meeting notes, enterprise search, a Notion Agent that edits your workspace, and Custom Agents that run on triggers. ChatGPT is a general assistant that lives outside your documents and connects to them. The deciding question is whether your team's knowledge already sits in Notion. If it does, Notion AI works on it in place. If it does not, ChatGPT is the broader tool.

Pick Notion AI if…
- Your wiki, projects and meeting notes already live in Notion and you want AI that edits those pages directly.
- You want agents that run on a trigger, like a Slack message or a database change, without a developer. Custom Agents do that, with credit caps and no surprise bills.
- You want EU hosting and can buy Enterprise. Frankfurt residency is included and covers Notion AI.
Pick ChatGPT if…
- Your knowledge is spread across Google Drive, SharePoint, GitHub and email, not in one Notion workspace.

Where each one falls short
Notion AI
- Output is Notion pages and databases, not .pptx or .xlsx. Agents run up to 20 minutes per session and pause when workspace credits run out.
- Full Notion AI needs the Business plan ($20 per member); Plus only gets a trial. EU residency needs Enterprise, and Calendar, Mail and beta features are excluded from it.
ChatGPT
- It does not live in your documents. Edits land in the chat or a downloaded file, and you paste them back.
- EU data residency needs Enterprise (reported ~150-seat minimum). OpenAI blocks automated reads of its pricing page, so prices here rely on a dated third-party tracker.
Notion AI or ChatGPT: the verdict
If your company runs on Notion, Notion AI on the Business plan is the better buy: same $20 seat, and the agents work inside the pages your team already reads. If your knowledge lives elsewhere or you need images, code and standalone files, ChatGPT wins. For EU hosting both require their enterprise tier.

Is Notion AI included in the Notion price?+
On Business ($20 per member monthly) and Enterprise, yes: Notion AI and Notion Agent are included. Free and Plus get a trial. Custom Agents are metered separately at $10 per 1,000 credits, with each run costing roughly 1 to 30 credits.
Which one keeps data in the EU?+
Both only on their enterprise plans. Notion Enterprise offers Frankfurt residency at no extra cost, and Notion AI keeps data in region. ChatGPT Enterprise offers Europe residency for new workspaces. Business plans on both are US-hosted.
Can ChatGPT read my Notion pages?+
Yes, through connectors on Business and Enterprise. It reads and summarises; it does not edit pages in place the way Notion Agent does.
Where does Sokosumi fit?+
